Maya Plugins are extensions for the 3D animation software Autodesk Maya.There are plugins for many different areas such as modeling, animation, and rendering. Some of them also interact with external applications (for instance renderers, game engines, or other software packages). So Maya would never agree to run. I therefore had to go back to 10.4 Tiger. After the 10.5.2 Leopard patch, though, I'm considering trying it again. I seriously covet the new MacBook Pro. But it's obviously a worry. With my current laptop, if I go to 10.5.2 and Maya doesn't run, I can go back to 10.4. Autodesk Maya 2015 Service Pack 2 includes several important fixes. Refer to the readme for more information.
